Worth the price. It’s a hidden gem!

The staff was soooo friendly. They made me want to stay.

Hmmmm. This is tough. My only issue is that there weren’t enough English channels to watch.

Good value hotel on a nice beach

The hotel is rather run down but this is normal in Cuba. It is quite good value for Cuba offering full board including drinks at the bar for reasonable prices. The food is OK and there is plenty of it, albeit a little monotonous, but there is little choice outside and restaurants in Cuba often prove disappointing. No one goes there for the food. Avoid the little shell fish in the salads which are high risk in Cuba. Staff are friendly. Water in bathrooms is piping hot. The location is isolated but there is a daily shuttle to Havana and staff can call you a taxi from Guanabo in a few minutes. I took one for a private tour to the Hemingway Museum for CUC$60 and went to explore Guanabo one evening but found it has little to offer except a tatty beach and a couple of restaurants, bars and unexciting discos. There was a quite good Cuban band playing at the hotel bar in the evenings to listen while enjoying the all inclusive drinks.

It's a rather isolated location. You are captive in the hotel but that's OK if you just want the beach which is nice.

Loved Cuba not so much the hotel.

Transportation from the hotel to most attractions is very good. The beach is beautiful.

Firstly food between meals was awful only ham sandwich available, restaurants that have to be reserved were always full but was empty at dinner time only 3 to 4 persons. Small pool and moldy bathrooms.

Hotel is run down but perfectly ok if you know what to expect.

The beach is amazing, white sand and clear blue water. There were always beds by the beach at any time of day. There was a lot of live bands performing over dinner, almost every night. Very enjoyable. There is a free transfer to Havana once per day, which was a comfortable bus journey of 30 mins.

No internet connection. We had to walk over to the next hotel to use their internet. Not very clean at all. The room was full of sand, mirrors seem never to have been cleaned, the swimming pool was also dirty, the beach had rubbish around as well. It’s a shame given that there is enough staff around who could take care of it.
